Tee off with... Annie D'Amico

Annie has worn many hats during her time at Swingers, each one playing a key role in our team’s success. Her evolution from front-of-house to administrative powerhouse, now as our Operations/Admin Manager, shows just how much we thrive when our people do and how every team member helps drive us forward.

Swingers: Hey Annie! Thanks for sitting down with us today. Let’s kick things off with your Swingers journey. How did it all begin, and what roles have you held along the way?

Annie D’Amico: I started at Swingers in the summer of 2021. At the time, Dupont Circle was our first and only US location, so it was really exciting to help establish Swingers here. I began as a receptionist in August, and about three months later, I was promoted to Reception Captain. I stayed in that role until December, when I had to step away to focus on studying.

Fast forward to August 2022—our Dupont Circle management team reached out and offered me a role assisting with recruitment and preparing for a new opening. I returned as Recruitment Support until November, and then I was offered a position on the management team as Admin Manager. It’s been two and a half amazing years now!

Swingers: That’s an impressive journey! It must have been such a rewarding experience to see Swingers grow from just one US location to where it is now.

Annie: Absolutely! I’ve really loved being part of that growth. There’s something so special about helping to establish a brand in a new market and seeing it take off.

Swingers: What initially attracted you to Swingers, and what’s kept you here?

Annie: When I first joined, Dupont Circle was still a relatively new venue, and I was drawn to the energy of helping a new concept establish itself in the US. My previous job was in fine dining, so I loved that Swingers focused on premium service in a more fun and laid-back environment.

Swingers: That’s such a unique combination—premium service but with a playful twist!

Annie: Exactly! And honestly, what’s kept me here is the people. Every position I’ve held has been an incredible experience because of the amazing team I’ve worked with. I’m so grateful to be part of such a talented and supportive group.

Swingers: Out of all the roles you’ve held, do you have a favorite?

Annie: Reception will always hold a special place in my heart, but the admin role is by far my favorite. It’s so dynamic—it looks different at each venue, which allows me to adapt to the needs of my team. Since I started at Swingers in an hourly role, I make it a priority to support the hourly team members, as well as the management team, because I have been in their shoes.

Swingers: That’s such an interesting perspective! It sounds like it keeps things fresh.

Annie: It really does. Over the last two years, I’ve learned so much and have been empowered to truly make this role my own.

Swingers: How do you stay passionate about your work after so much time?

Annie: Swingers as a concept is so dynamic. There is always something new to tackle and I believe that we can and should always strive to improve upon the way we operate, so there's never a dull moment.

Swingers: That’s such a great mindset. It must make your work feel constantly evolving.

Annie: Exactly. There’s always a new project to dive into, and that keeps my work super engaging.

Swingers: With so much growth at Swingers, what excites you most about the future?

Annie: It’s been incredible to watch the evolution of the company. When I started almost four years ago, we had only one US venue. Now, we’ve since opened several more, including Las Vegas, and we are looking forward to Boston in the fall. We have introduced new concepts like brunch and family sessions Dupont Circle, but the most exciting has been the launch of Carnival this past April. With so many projects on the horizon for this year, I’m thrilled to see what’s next for Swingers!
